Increase
Productivity, Profitability and Morale and Make Work Fun
Can
we learn to take our jobs seriously and ourselves lightly? Rather,
can we unlearn the Terminal Professionalism that is so common
in Corporate America today? For companies who realize that the
next major boost in employee productivity will be people, not technology,
driven the answer is YES! Numerous examples illustrate that
fun increases productivity and morale by stimulating creativity and cooperation.
When people are in an environment where they have the courage
to take risk, innovation and profitability result. Fun levels
the playing field between everyone so that the entire group
gets involved in generating useful ideas. Morale skyrockets
because people feel appreciated. Customers like doing business
with people who like doing business.
This session
is designed to teach by example. Experiential activities are used
to get people involved, having fun and learning. Scavenger Hunt
is a group effort to list items by letters of the alphabet that
shows the importance of each team member’s contribution. Responding
to changing conditions is clearly demonstrated in two activities:
"One Word at a Time" and "Pushing Hands". The
fun has a purpose. After each event, the activity is then metaphorically
related to conditions at work. People often see new solutions to
old problems when looked at in this playful way. Stories and magic
add emphasis and statistics are delivered to show why work that
is fun gets done.
