Having Fun in the Bible

"So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people to do in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them." Ecclesiastes 8:15.

I also looked up the verse in the NIV. I wondered what the word "fun" was translated from and it says, "the enjoyment of life."

Go out and have some fun . . . the Bible tells us to!

Exciting Jobs Keep Best People

Your most valued employees are the also the ones most likely to suffer this sense of job discontent according to Sharon Jordan-Evans. They are savvy, creative, self-propelled, and energetic. These people need stimulating work, opportunities for personal challenge and growth, and a contributing stake in the organizational action. If good workers find the job with your company no longer provides these necessities, they may decide they have outgrown the place and will consider leaving. Help make their jobs rewarding, exciting and fun. Read the whole article at www.fastcompany.com/keywod/100insights.

Retention Costs

It takes 48 days for an American company to fill a job vacancy in 2004. The average cost per hire was $3,270. according to PricewaterhouseCoopers Saratoga 2005/2006 Human Capital Index Report.

It takes us less time and costs us less money to retain the employees that we have now.

Pictures of West Virginia

Take me home Country Roads . . . Growing up in West Virginia I didn’t appreciate the natural beauty of the state. I had to live in other places and return to WV to really see it.

And now you can see it, too! I have just launched my new website www.picturesofwestvirginia.com.

The pictures are grouped into seasons of the year, animals and golf courses. Pick your favorites. They make great Christmas gifts, too.

All my best . . .

Robin

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze
Country roads, take me home to the place I belong . . . West Virginia.
Country Roads sung by John Denver
